Staying active during the Holidays

The six week summer holiday period is a long time out of school and whilst children have somewhat earned their break, it’s also vital that their bodies and minds remain active during their downtime.

Gone are the days where almost every child spent the day outside playing hide-and-seek, football or some other active play, instead, due to the advancements of technology, children are spending more time sat down inside, often in front of screens.

During the Holidays it will be important to make sure your child is active for at least a couple of hours per day. Engaging daily in some form of activity will help ensure your child is motivated to move, confident to move and competent to move, and in some respects, prepare them for the next school year.

Younger children in particular should engage is running, throwing and jumping movements as often as possible. They should also be taught how to push and pull themselves and objects correctly.

Start as you mean to go is a phrase that springs to mind; we are all products of our upbringing, therefore if children are brought up to have physical activity ingrained in their daily lifestyles, they’re more likely to take it into adulthood.

Gravity Force offer the perfect location for children to get moving. With wall to wall trampolines, foam pits and dodge-ball courts there isn't a better way to get active safely.
